Project Description: Caldwell Elementary School, located in Scottsboro, AL, is set to unveil a new gym facility spanning approximately 14,000 square feet. This state-of-the-art addition will offer modern, safe, and comfortable classrooms, along with restrooms and office spaces. In addition to serving as a hub for physical education and school activities, the gym will also function as a storm shelter, ensuring the safety and well-being of students and staff during severe weather events.
GTEC Services: GTEC was the engineer of record for geotechnical engineering on the projects. We performed soil test borings and laboratory testing on soil samples to provide foundation recommendations for the additions. GTEC also performed on-site shear wave velocity testing to provide a more representative estimation of seismic site classification.
