Project Description: Kohler solicited a need for a contractor to construct a new warehouse facility. The facility is located on Wall Triana south of I-565 across Wall Triana from Kohler’s existing manufacturing plant. The project encompassed a 546,000 square foot concrete tilt-up warehouse, associated parking, drives, and loading bay areas on the 28-acre site. GTEC was the recipient of the 2022 ABC Excellence in Construction award for the submittal of this project.
GTEC Services: Construction Services and Environmental Consulting. GTEC was tasked with providing recommendations for the remediation of unsuitable soils encountered near the beginning of the project schedule. The following services were provided at the Kohler site: soil undercut and fill placement monitoring and testing, foundation evaluations, concrete sampling and testing, reinforcing inspections, steel framing inspections, stormwater pipe installation monitoring, and asphalt testing.
